Some years ago I did the same on my NX650 and also reduced 1 tooth on the front sprocket. While it does improve acceleration you also run out of revs quickly and I am forever changing gear on mine. 4,500 revs in top gear gives me just over 60mph. Fun in central London though.
I know I go against the norm with domies but I love an under geared bike that is slow to pull through the gears.
I went up a tooth on the front sprocket on my NX650 shit kicker and run a 16 / 45. The down shifts are now a lot smoother, and lower revs at cruising speed.
I'm very tempted to get a 42 rear to give it a go and run a 16 / 42.
