Hi all,

I want to do a compression test but can’t find the right PSI number for my bike.

I have a Haynes Manual and that shows the numbers for the XRV750 and transalp but not the xrv650,
I also have a manual for the xrv650 but it says 28 PSI and that’s not right.

Can anybody tell me the compression range in PSI for the xrv650

Also the compression test is done with the engine cold or at operation temp ?

Il upload the two photos I have of the manuals

Compression test must be done with a cold engine, strong battery and throttle fully open.190psi makes sense

May be worthwhile checking your valve clearances before doing the test, if you have something too tight / no clearance it may keep your valve open, thus low compression. If you find compression low try a small amount of oil down the plug, if this increases pressure it can indicate worn rings

Cheers
