How do you remove the standard grips from the bars. I have a new handlebar for a 650 TA. I want to re-use the grips, so they need removing with damaging them.

Any tips?

Done a search but didn't find anything.

Remove the bar end and poke a long thin screwdriver up between the grip and the bar. Once you get to the end of the grip rotate the screwdriver handle and it will crawl round the grip. If it doesn't come off after a full revolution of the screwdriver then a give it a squirt of wd40 or similar and repeat.

Thanks, but there are no bar ends, just the grip which is one piece over the end of the bar.

slide the tube that comes with the wd40 up the grip and give it a small squirt, then keep twisting the grips till they work loose.
personally, i would do one of two things-
1/ cut the disc of rubber out and put some light alloy fake bar weights in the end (ive got wide hands and grips are never wide enough) and then you can do what boris suggests, or
2/ cut the grips off and bin them its always nice to have new grips and they are only five or six quid. or both
