Pity about my mate stuck on the island of Muck :D:D
Force 10 zillion at the moment, he he, it could have been me :thumbright:

It's still blowing a hoolie here although I think it's beginning to abate slightly. Mrs H currently stuck in Birmingham Airport as all flights north have been grounded

It's been very windy here in Fife, one of the banks had to be temporarily closed while the Fire Dept. saved the two chimneys on the roof from smashing onto the high street. Lot's of other wind damage elsewhere. The ride back from work was 'interesting'. ;)

You can go off some people.

On the upside however....

That was the old joke about Berwick having to get DFS in when all the stadiums went seating only. They got two sofas and an armchair.

Well our house seems to have got away with out any damage. The couple across the road have lost a load of roof tiles and guttering and the 2 girls a couple of doors down have lost all the hip tiles from one edge of the roof. Unluckily at least one of them was found on the back seat of their car :(

Fun drive home last night dodging 'fire-wood' :D

A944 blocked due to downed trees so home late. 2hrs!!

still blocked this morning.. so took some real Icy back roads.. used the shoggy .. as its a brick toilet , but there was still the usual idiot in a Corsa wanting past on the single track road, just as I was avoiding a 4" log... guess s/he was wanting to get to the black ice first.. lets hope s/he just bends the car and does not ruin christmas for thier / some ones parents...

house all good, as I sorted the roof some years ago.. no trees down in the garden ( good job as the sycamore at the end is 150yrs old and 40-50ft high and would take off more than the tiles ;))

shame all that wind was wasted ar the turbines were feathered well all but one !!

power fine but the old back draft down the chimnies was interesting .. :happy9:

So they really did call it Bawbag then? I'd heard it called that via more "unofficial" channels, but even on the news? :)
