I'm off to the Sinulog Festival in Cebu, early Friday morning with 3 other guys from my Negros Island bike club. (2 V-Max's and a CB 1000, wonder if they’ll be able to keep up?!) :D:D:D

For those of you unfamiliar with the "Sinulog de Cebu" here's some of the associated blurb:-

The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The main festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City to honor the Santo Niño, or the child Jesus, who is the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu. It is essentially a dance parade cum Mardi-Gras which could traces its roots to Cebuano pagan ancestry but which came to be symbol of Cebuano religious piety.

The festival features some the country's most colorful displays of pomp and pageantry: participants garbed in bright-colored costumes dancing to the rhythm of native drums and gongs. The streets are packed with vendors and pedestrians all wanting to witness the street-dancing.:wav:

We drive 30kms up the Negros east coast, catch a WW2 landing craft across to Cebu island, then ride 160kms north to the city (lots of twisties across a mountain range to get there), for the weekend party.

Our club has a section in Cebu, which invited us to the motorcycle parade on Saturday morning, last year there were over 2500 bikes (750 big bikes), which is supposed to be great fun. :eek:ccasion5:

Will take some pictures and post after the weekend.
