Note that the main tank is about 18 litres, and the reserve is a whopping 7 litres. I usually get to about 200 miles before reserve, which theoretically means I could get another 70 miles before running dry. That's approximately 50mpg.

Mine goes onto reserve on 180 miles and lucky if I get to 220 without getting off and walk. They are not exactly economical or do I also suffer from heavy wrist syndrome

Mine only used to go to 180 miles when the choke was sticking on a little bit.

Over the last 15k miles I've averaged 56mpg with a worst of 47 and a best of 65 (running in). I generally leave the tap on reserve to save fiddling with it on the move and fill up every 200 miles .

If I take it easy I can get 200+ before reserve if I don't it can be as low as 160 before reserve.

I get about 180 on a run... That is giving it large when possible.
I can normally do a days commute into the city, and home on a tank .. about 160miles without touching the reserve. occasionally I have had to switch to reserve about 20 miles from home if its been particularly bad in city traffic.

Keeping to a steady 60-70ish, I have seen 220.
I use 180 as a rule of thumb, with 50 as a reserve
