If your not using the carb heater I’d be inclined to just snip the wires off and leave the rest in place, rather than needing to blank off any hole that is left after removal.
Please note, my opinion is just based on looking at the pic in this thread, and always opting for the simplest result.
You can remove the carb heater from the body (and keep it for a cold winter ?) , it only screws into a blank hole.
