Popped off to the post office thisafternoon, and stopped at some traffic lights - then screeeeeech and bang clatter clunk

Some dozy old codger skidded straight into the back of me from about 30 mph

Gave my pea brain a right good rattle in my noggin and given me a headache and sore neck. Other than that we were both ok - but he was more shaken than me so i refrained from shouting at him (respect your elders and all that ).

All i can say is thank god i wasnt on my bike - would have been nasty. He was in a Nissan Micra which came off worse. 'Luckily' i was in the company car (vw golf) which came out fairly unscathed much to my surprise - and the company will sort out all the insce. claim.

Just take it easy out there guys and gals - theyre out to get us.

Shit.

Get your neck looked after good and proper before this whole thing is over! Seriously.

I got in a crash like that once with my dad. I saw it coming out of the corner of my eye just as it happened and was prepared for the impact. My dad didn't, and wasn't. He had a sore neck, and no-complaining kind of guy that he is he shrugged it off...

Until a year later lying awake at night he finally put 1 + 1 together, and figured out that his sleepless nights had started somewhere awfully close to the time of that crash.

He's fine really, but before that he could get a perfect night's sleep on any old sack of straw, now he needs an 800 quid mattress just to be able to not wake up for an hour in the dead of the night, every night.

Not trying to scare you or anything, but really better safe then sorry...

Glad you're OK. Same hppened to me some years ago, got rear ended in a works van. Spent a few weeks in a collar and on a purely mercenary note got a few grand compo for whiplash injuries.

Oh if it's in your works car on company business register it in your companies accident book/register/log. Very, very important

..and this morning, I trust your neck and head aren't giving you any problems. If they are, get yourself to casualty :?

But at least you weren't on your bike. It's always been one of my greatest fears.

Hope the insurers don't take too long to fix your cage.

Bad luck matey :( Seriously though get things checked out. Never been in an accident and don't believe in the blame culture, but Mrs Squirrel got rear ended (oh er! ) and had trouble for months with head/neck pain. Took 1/2 dozen trips to a specialist to sort her out and even now (4 years on) she gets days when she just can't get rid of the aches. Bit of time at the quacks now could save you loads later.
