Good on ya John, not sure if the gold wheels are doing it for me on this occasion.
Anyway, I wouldn't have thought that Hammerite paint jobs were your thing
Careful with the Halfords clear lacquer. They do a special petrol resistant version (at a price). I know from bitter experience that it is definitely needed on a bike tank or you will get manky great melted spots with every tiny spot of fuel when filling up.
Trying to get the fairings finished and have taken the chance to lacquer outside in the sun, it's far easier to watch the paint build up but there's no control of any airborn debris.
cheers just as i thought , 8 month old tranny just had a front rim replaced under warranty because of black spots and now the back has done it despite being covered in acf50 .
Finally  finished, I'm never gonna paint a bike again.
