After many a cold night working on the bike, I've got her back on the road again with all major conversions done.

88 Transalp with CBR600 wheels & rear disc conversion. All lights have been replaced with LED units, and twin projector headlight with HID lighting. Clocks replaced with acewell unit.

Forgive the crap photo's, as I'm useless with a camera.

really nice bike:cool:

it looks good with the high front mudguard and alloy wheels, especcially the cut down rear section.

how do you go on not having a sq number plate and no rear reflector? do you find the high front mudguard causes much lift on the front when driving.

That must have been a good little project to work on, looks great. unfortunatly i had ART Carbon fibre race cans on my Firestorm i hope you bike is more gentle with them as my Firestorm shook them to bits in no time, and i had to get the can welded to the baffle as the can would come apart and slide down the link pipe, poor build quality.

Thanks for the comments guys, had fun doing it.

did you make the clock surround?
I just used the original side pieces and moulded the shape first with a fleece layer then fibre glass. The raised section for the displays is hollow, makes it easier to recess everything for a better look and finish.

how do you go on not having a sq number plate and no rear reflector?
There is reflectors fitted, they are either side of the tail light and about the size of a 20p piece. no probs yet with number plate (thats me getting pulled now for saying that :banghead:) Do have a proper one for the MOT

do you find the high front mudguard causes much lift on the front when driving.
Only difference I found was the headlight got washed more from spray when out in the wet

Mind if I ask where you got the fork brace from?
Off the bay mate, it's an src alloy one. just knew my fork dimensions and what style I was after, went hunting and got lucky.

What is the round part on the dash for is it temp gauge?
Give that man a cigar, spot on mate

Cheers

Hello there

I really like what you've done with your bike. I was wondering if you could help me out at all, I've got a 2001 650 and I would like to fit the same wheels to mine. Did you use the original forks, are the discs off of the cbr and does the rear wheel slot straight in or did you have to fabricate a mount for the rear disc? Sorry for all the questions, any help would be greatly appreciated.
