Oops sorry had tech head on. Essentially there are now five major PDA (personal Digital assistant) phone operating systems

Symbian from Nokia Sony Motorola et al
Android from Google
Pocket PC from Microsoft
Iphone from Apple
Blackberry from Research in Motion

Android is the newest and shiniest of these and promises to be the most open to development from Google. They really really want to dent the iPhone and its appstore market where you are locked into buying software through Apple earning them ever more money off you.

I've played a lot with Android and found it to be very intuitive fast and freindly though do go and test run it on an existing phone with the knowledge that it is going to be better on these new bits of kit

Oh and Tramp if you want touch screen and a proper keyboard look here

HTC - Products

HTC make some dual units too though they get a little heavier.

The other option is the Blackberry Bold 9700 but am not sure you really want to go the BB route. This is what I use but then it's connected into a corporate mail system and takes advantage of the benefits of that

The g1 google phone was pretty good. It had apps and lots of them are free.
With all your needs though ... Vid txt colour screen etc you will be pretty dissapointed with the battery life. ! Whereas the nokia 6100 I had couldn't do much it remained on constantly for at least a week.
I am lucky if I can manage a full working day with google phone (android) and only slightly more on the iPhone.

I used iPhone to do this. I have just ordered a new book on amazon app and sorted my son out with his physics homework.... using an app. I got home today on the bike tonight listening to mp3 music while listening to Michele on TomTom app.
20 minutes ago it reminded me that in the morning I must send a cheque off for the weekend I booked a couple of weeks ago.

Mmmmm confess I couldn't do without the iPhone.
Ok off to charge it up again.

Oh by the way the iPhone is also a phone!

wow cheers guys:thumbright:,

Think I`ll wait till april and the new Android mods come out a I was and still am a great believer in FREE choice, use Mozilla just for this and that its great and stable;) takes me back to the good old days.

Suppose all these new phones running so much are bound to have little battery life, maybe an Idea to get a netbook and keep me old panasonic and use my dongle:toothy10:
