Hi guys,

I need new tires for my 1990 RD04.

I'm hesitating between:

  • Pirelli Scorpion Rally (not STR)
  • Michelin Anakee Wild
  • Bridgestone AX41 adventure cross

Any recommendations or alternatives?

Where I live there's mud everywhere nowadays :).

Street performance is also important.

Thanks!

Heidenau K60 Scouts have always been good to me, however, I don't have any experience with the others you suggest so can't offer a comparison. The K60's have a solid centre so good on the paved as well as off road. However, the ones you suggest look more off road focused.

I've had Continental TKC80's on my solo AT's for a number of years. When first using them I was pleasantly surprised how nice I found them on tarmac, and have stuck with them ever since. Off-road on gravel tracks, mild trails and a bit of mud they're good (albeit I have no other knobbly-type tires to compare them with). Generally I get around 6k from the rear and 8k front. I've found them quite pliable so relatively easy to get on and off the rims with decent levers and lubricant. Here they are on my RD04....
