guys a kina numty question but how would i know if my fuel pump was shagged ,,now dont laugh but how wuld i know it wasnt somthing else

If the bike is running crap or not at all, bypass the fuel pump by connecting the fuel tank direct to the carb and see if the problem goes away. This only works with a relatively full fuel tank.

I have done this at the side of the road with nothing other than my bare hands (petrol shot up the sleeve of my new bike jacket I seem to remember) so it's not that difficult. Got me home without calling the breakdown once and 45 miles to work the other time. Bloody Honda pumps.

thanks a mill just if my pump ever goes ill know what to try ,i ran out of fuel 20 kms from home the other day i thought it was my pump luckaly i just turned on the reserve problem sorted,now im bloody paronoide of that pump
