just a quick plea to those of you who are good at these sort of things,

1999 hornet 600 wont drop revs back to normal when throttled down,runs at 3kish.
changed throttle position sensor,checked all rubbers round carbs.
is driving me potty!! any ideas ?

Sounds to me like a sticky throttle cable. Check at both the twist-grip and the carbs (?) to see if the cable is running smoothly. With the engine off (or if you're not shy ;)) flick the twist-grip open, it should snap shut fairly smartish.

Might just need a bit of lubrication. At worst it may need a new cable or cables. (Not sure on the Hornet, but the Transalps have two cables - one to open the other to close)
