I'm rushing & prep'ing a frame for a rebuild for next week and have just been offered a powdercoating for free on top of the bead blasting service a local garage offers.

I've got tons of Hammerite spray so I can easily do 3 - 5 layers.

But can anyone conclusively say if perhaps a powdercoating would be better for longevity's sake?

I'd be happy to take him up on the offer if it's worth the extra day he'll need it.

Thanks for the advice.

Powder coating will(should) give a nice even finish and get into all the awkward places spray doesn't. If you're in a hurry, I'd say powder coat because the hammerite takes days to go properly solid especially if you're putting on a pile of it.

hammerite is good, but chips too easily for a frame..
