Hi

I have a XRV RD04 1991.

Reading all service manuals and visiting all websites in the world, don't clarify which needle jet holder goes where. One have 6 holes - one have 10 holes.

My logic tells me, that the one with 10 holes is in carburettor 1, since its jetted a little larger than carburettor 2, but i honesty don't have a real clue.

Does anyone in here know?

PS.
I'm actually a little bit surprised, the servicemanual don't clarify the fact, that the two carburettors are different.

Have you checked the parts list ? The emulsion tubes have marks to identify them.

Hi ML

I have checked all my usual sources (cmsnl, wemoto etc.) I also have the original partsfiche. All sources describe two different partnumbers: 16165-MV1-630 and 16165-MF5-671. But none of them tells me, how the looks. I Also have both Haynes manual and Hondas servicemanual.

Does this help with part identification? Both are 16165-MF5-671 - 10 hole jet

Looks like Transalp 600 have similar jetting - forums say that the needles are marked, with an A of the front cylinder, and with a B of the rear
Suggestions on other threads is again that 10 hole jet is front cylinder

According to the part fiche in pdf format that I have:

Front emulsion tube is 16165-MF5-671

Googling 16165-MF5-671 gives me the following image showing 10 holes

Rear emulsion tube is 16165-MV1-630

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Then going there : http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/africa...n-rd04-xrv750-engine-restriction-details.html

I get that

Front/Right Holder, Needle Jet, Part No: 16165-MF5-671

Left/Rear Holder, Needle Jet, Part No: 16165-MV1-630

Hi

Thanks a lot. I thought i have looked everywhere :)

It seems to be totally certain now.

Still wondering, why it is so secret in the manual though. The needles are also different and not mentioned in the manual either.
