Hi all.

I'm in the market for a cheap RD07 frame.

The only conditions are that it must be 100% straight, have a log book and not be written off.

Thanks.

Yeah. Great people at Hamart. Bought several times from them.

I can imagine the postage on that will be considerable. And it will need registering too..

I might hold out for one in the U.K. someone must have one in a shed somewhere..

they certainly do, very good english

I was speaking with Manfred, he was helping me with a lot of issues.

shipping doesnt seem that bad... especially for sterling.. but I dont know how much a frame weighs..

you could log in and go through the purchase process right to the end, to see does it give you a shipping qoute.. or email and ask Manfred

to 5kg > € 15,-
to 10kg > € 19,-
to 20kg > € 24,-
to 31kg > € 29,90

I communicated several times with them in a perfect english. They have a very courteous customer service. Simply email them and ask about shipping the frame to the UK.

Here's the email address

Jonathan at Rugged Roads had a very nice frame a couple of years back but it was german import I think. From what he said it was pretty hard to get registered on anything but a Q plate.

I'm just in the middle of registering my mates AT which has come from Ireland, a few of the guys on the RDLC forum bring bikes and frames from Europe and rebuild them here. I have an RD frame with no documents, it's easy enough process I believe, Yamaha will supply me a dating certificate and once the bike is rebuilt and MOTd and it's just the process of applying to DVLA. Make sure you notify HMRC about bringing the "bike" into the uk on the NOVA system, at that age you won't have to pay VAT
Here's the link to the LC guys guide

For now, I'm going to scour ebay and the classifieds. I really want a UK frame I can inspect first. It will be a winter project anyway as i need the bike for the summer so no major rush.

Thanks for all the input.

I bit the bullet and bought the perfect condition 1998 frame from Halmart. £300 delivered. Not too bad..

Now my build can begin.

I've got myself a set of 48mm WP forks and yokes and i'll be using the Rugged Roads stem adaptor.

I'll also be fitting a 320mm front single disc and a Brembo caliper. I plan to match this up with a YSS rear shock with an up-rated spring.

The donor engine will be completely rebuilt. I'll build the wheels myself with new Rims and Stainless spokes.

Body work and tank will be kept original.

I'm aiming to have it ready in about 12 months. Maybe even for sale.
