I wanted to the factory-look satin finish, so I added matting agent to the last layer of clear coat.
I'm happy with the end result 馃憤

I somehow managed to get it into place without any scratches, they are a tight fit!

Great job! Would you tell me what color you used on the engine? (And where to get it.)

For the base coat, I just selected a metallic charcoal that looked close enough to the OEM colour from my local paint/body shop, then applied 2k clear top coat with around 1/3 mating agent added for the satin finish.

Wheels and tires...
I went with Kenda 'Big Blocks'. I've used these before and they are quite good off road, while still being decent on road, they are well priced and give the look I'm after. The negative is they wear quite fast, but it will take me a while to clock up many miles.

Could you tell me the RAL color code you used on the handle bar? I am rebuilding my 1990 RD04 and this gold looks like the one I was looking for. Following this thread, even though I am working on an RD04, it is very helpful. Beautiful work!
