Old post, I know .... but how did it end? I have the same problem: bike usually starta fairly quick, but recently I havent been riding much, and after craqnking it over for 10sec on a full battery, I only hear the clicking noise from the relay.

The clicking is indicative that there's current flowing to activate the starter relay but not enough to turn the starter. Things to check that battery is in tip top condition, properly charged, corrosion / damage on the cable from battery via starter (and that battery terminals are clean & tight) Also corrosion under the rubber hood to the terminal on the starter. And internal corrosion that has got into the starter by passing terminal bolt fibre seals onthe starter.

If the battery has gone flat (and even if you charge it up) it could mean the battery has been permanently damaged and will need replacing. A multimeter and some testing should pinpoint the problem.

I just ordered a new battery. My voltmeter was screwed, so I'm taking a chance that a new battery will sort it out :p
