Hi all, and thank you for your welcome. Can you carb synchronizing gauges, ones that have whatever is needed to connect to the carbs. Also, where is the take off for gauges on the carbs?
Many thanks,
Pat.

There is a wide choice of gauges out there, but simple is best. I use a set of the metal rod type as they are cheaper and more reliable than the dial gauges and they have 4 tubes on them so can be used on singles, twins, triples and fours. The take off points for connecting the gauges are actually on the cylinder heads just below the carburettor intake rubbers. There is an M5 blanking screw on the induction port. Simply remove both of those screws and fit the brass M5 tube adaptors that should come with your gauges or buy some on eBay. Very well worthwhile adjusting the synchronisation occasionally. They run much better.

at3.jpg Hi and many thanks for the info!

I intend using the bike until the snow comes here, then take the carbs apart for a clean up and tune.

Is the take off point to attach the sync gauges the Allen Bolt pictured here, it is part of the casing in the head, just after the intake manifolds.

Regards,
Pat.
