Hello again.. Cleaning up a second Dommie, and discovered that the reg rec was not working. (Confirmed by swapping out the reg rec from my daily ride) Ordered a new one (aftermarket), and when it came to put it in, noticed an extra wire coming out of the reg rec - black.. The original reg rec was a five wire, and this is a 6 wire. The connectors have no black either. What to do with the black wire?

I downloaded a wiring diagram for the Dommie, and it shows the black wire in use........

It's a 96 model assembled in Italy.

Think you've got the early model reg/rec. RD08s have a 5 wire system.

If it's a standard aftermarket Honda reg/rec the black wire should go to a switched live, such as the feed to the rear brake light switch. It's a voltage sensor feed, to allow the reg/rec to more accurately control the loom voltage. I think if you run with it disconnected you may find that you're overcharging the battery.
