Driving towards Clacton, saw ANPR response team - counted about 6 police motorcycles, 1 camera van and 4 or 5 police cars

Great to see them out trying to catch deviants with no tax/insurance/mot/stolen cars etc :D

Have to say i felt sorry for the police motorcyclists as it was absolutely pissing down.

Yes Anton , I'm with you on this one. I don't mind how many Police traffic cars / motor cycles are on the road - the more the better I say , I've got nothing to fear - I'm totally legal.

Saw a squad like that working in our area about a year ago , very impressive , I didn't know what was happening at first , I thought there was a major incedent going down - we have Hunterston Nuclear Power station within frying distance and it was shortly after the Tube bombings and paranoia was still high !!!! Started thinking , what if someone managed to bomb the power station , could the Pan European (that I was riding then) outrun the gamma rays??. Nah no chance ,!! toast !!!

The great travesty is that such effort isn`t put into patrolling the streets at night (or even in daylight, come to think of it) in an effort to reduce or ideally prevent violence and 'proper' crime.

Although I do applaud the initiative of the attempts to remove illegal vehicle useage from our overcrowded roads.

i was riding home from work a few months ago and saw on the other side of the dual carraigeway loads of polices Pans, both 1100 and 1300s. The guys on the first few bikes were absolutly flat out and the rest just riding fast with a couple of black Range Rovers with black windows and black Audis with black windows also riding vast and in the middle of the 2 lanes.

When i got home a saw the news i realised who it had been, Prince Andrew , who was over for some thing. What a cool job being an out rider.

see them in the city all the time. Helmets up, whistle in mouth, barking at traffic at junctions as they move dignitaries about.

also seen the ARV's and High Security guys opposite my office window, near the Old Baily.

its suprising how they move though city traffic too

S.E.G.s (Special Escort Group) they ride a hybrid BMW - bottom half RT / top half RS and use whistles at junctions - they reckon they are more effective at attracting attention over the general traffic niose that horn or yelpers, it appears all you Londoners are so used to the sound of Sirens that you blank it out !!! Jeez , why do you do it ?? come to Scotland the silence is deafening !!!

We're in the middle of a controversy about Claudia Schiffer being escorted at high speed through Dublin for a photo-shoot. :?:
Meanwhile someone was waiting 25 mins for response to an armed robbery. :!:
Amazingly the Gardaí have said the incident is to be investigated!

what do you think we are.. a shower of useless pissheads?
I do hope so - I have a meeting in Dublin coming up and am spending the night out there with this very intention.

Useless pissheads? Surely they aren't synonymous?

Pissheads are great. I keep telling myself that anyway!

Dublin's great for drinking.

Besides why do today when you can procrastinate about it tomorrow?
