well changed my steering head bearings

WOW :p what a difference

feels way smoother and has got rid of my anoying 'wobble'

i did it all myself (except pressing the bottom bearing off the stem) and think any home mechanic can easly do it! all you need is a stand for the bike and your away!

anyone doing it need any advice, than ask its really easy!

Europe here i come........... :D

Yes it's a very easy job to do and most Varadero's have centrestands so that not normally an issue.

For correct pressure on the headraces if you put the bars at 12 o'clock they should fall to 3 or 9 o'clock on there own weight, if they don't the bearing is done up to tight. Like wise if you grab the stanchions above the fork leg you should not feel any play if you do they are not tight enough.
Never grab hold of the fork leg itself as you will misdiagnose the headraces, if the fork bush is slightly worn, what you would feel then is the play in the fork legs
