More newbie questions, please excuse as i dont want to make a fool out of myself like i did trying to replace a headlight bulb and removing the wrong bolts to get the fairing off! :(
Looking at the haynes manual, there is the usual "remove bolts and remove sump guard" explanation. It's an RD04, and I can see it looks like there are 3 sections to the sumpgard, the centre section, and 2 either side. Should these be removed as one, or all removed individually. Its basically to get to the oil filter and sump plug...

Remove them as 1 item. 2 bolts at the front, 1 down near the gear lever and 1 underneath the left side near the centre stand pivot.

On my RD07A, the sump guard is removed as a unit.
There is one bolt on the LH side, towards de rear of the side of the guard, one other or the RH side, more or less at the same spot only below the guard, not on the side, and 2 more bolts on the front, immediately behind the front wheel, all bolts removed with a 12 mm socket wrench, I believe.

I hope that helps :)
