I picked up new bike today
traded in TA700

This bike may not suit everyone but I fancied a change

It is a naked bike - so I can feel Gladius all over:iconbiggrin:

I took off my home made top plate for fixing a universal topbox plate to bike.

For central Scottish members
It is free to anyone that wants it - I will fix it to your bike if you live near Glasgow. (no drilling/damage will be required)

I took photos of installation etc so if interested let me know and I will email them
It is white uPVC - I have carried heavy items including laptop in topbox
it is strong.

I hope to continue to visit this site even though I am not a TA owner.

Note for BigMac
I will be bringing bike to Castlecary this Tuesday night.
I will also be organising a club run soon - Not before 600mile service booked for 3 weeks time.

Must be the season for going naked :blob5:

I have just traded my Transalp 700 for a Speed Triple.

I have a standard Transalp 700 screen free to a good home (just enough to cover postage).

I also have a transalp 700 seat in great condition which I will happily flog to the highest bidder.

I dont know about you Stephen, but the whole nekid street fighter thing has a very nice light feel about it. I tried a z1000 for a bit of fun and then found myself on the Triumph while handing over my bank card to the salesman. Before you know it I will be spinning around in a blaze of smoking rubber in the Tesco car park :happy2:

an update for anyone interested
the gladius does not have a fuel guage but when the fuel light comes on, a special trip meter starts that counts upwards i.e. how many miles you have done since light came on.
I will need to get used to this but.
I filled tank when I got bike and have done 150miles since
no light yet - as I have to be early tomorrow, I did not fancy having to get fuel so I filled it up tonight.
I struggled to get 10litres in
that equates to close to 70mpg
OK so I have stuck below 5000rpm
but not bad.

So it is possible to get an economical 650 cc bike.
I wish the other makers would try harder.

Thanks Marv
yes I am still enjoying it.
600 mile service this Saturday and have kept below 5500rmp and still returning 15miles/litre.
5500rmp on M8 = 80mph so am not overly nursing it.
It is very light and great for commuting.

I fitted engine bars/sports rack/top box from Renntec.
I really only wanted sports rack but they have offer on at moment (a bit like beer in supermarket)
buy one bit and for a little bit more you get all 3.
The rack and engine bars together are £25 more than buying all 3 !!
I already have 2 top boxes but fitted the new one as it was pristine as opposed to my older ones that have been well used/abused
