Hey all, I have found fault with my tachometer, 2 components are burned, one is easy to change and have an extra, the other is something of a problem because it is burned, and when it does change the colors on the so you can not see what it really should be, one can not match up to it because that component is fried - I have measured it to approximately 0,625, but perhaps the true 0,250 .. damn

I've taken a few pictures and there is a ring around it that gives me problems, does anyone have a tacho spare for a AT from 91-95, who can tell me the color code (the color code is some different stripes on the components : gold black black and red, or something like that )

Makes perfect sense. I had a look but the RD04 tacho is sealed so I can't get to the board without damaging the housing. As it's a good tacho I don't really want to wreck it. Hopefully someone with an RD07 will have something in their shed that's of more help.

No no you dont have to wreck it , i did open mine ther is a little clamp and 2 piston u have 2 press togheter

It's a sealed unit. The metal rim needs to be peeled back to remove the glass and then it can be removed by unbolting the 4 retaining screws...



I suspect yours is a late model RD04 or an RD07 as these have integrated instruments rather than individual speedo and tacho etc.

Sadly that shows the colours on the wrong resistor. The one TheDane needs the colours for is the smaller one to the right of the one that has been replaced in those pics but it isn't high enough resolution to make it out. It's the same for the other pics in the tacho fix thread
