Hi guys. Need your input on a difficult decision.
Can get a 2001 Africa Twin with "broken engine" for R 30 000.00. Guy did not check oil and got stuck after 800km. Engine is still untouched so everybody is guessing about all the broken parts inside. Does it sound like a deal or should I give it a skip?
I will be doing most of the work myself but machining will be outsorced.

How available is cranks, bearings, rods and pistons?
Does the AT use a loose barrel/sleeve or can it be bored with an over-size piston.
Pleae !! Your input as the guy is waiting for me to get back to him.
Thanks.
Alec

Ater looking at how much mine as cost to get it to mine sorted I would say its to expensive as you need to do a lot of work to get it running. I think and its only my opinion but you need to get him down by R5000 and I think then it will only be worth what you have spent
Keep us informed

Dunno what that is in GBP but you might find it easier to get a new engine. As it happens I do have a crank and con rods for sale!
