i found this thread after a search but the photos are gone!!

Chronyx do you still have the photos or has anyone else done this mod? Trying to provide a little more space on the bike!

also did this affect the strength of the rack - i.e is it still strong enough to be used as a back rest!

any help appreciated!

i have the box moved back one hole with plates and that gave more room, i also have just fitted spacers (made by Givi i think) that level the box up and makes even more room on the bike.

did you move it back using any additional parts or just on the existing rack?

Certainly do, the site they were hosted on is gone.

I think the leverage they give could affect the rack...but I did 2800 miles with the back box totally chocka of clothes etc, and sometimes my Frank Thomas trousers and jacket bungee'd on top...it still seems OK!
