Hello,

Does anyone has an idea from where to buy the linkage bearing kit for the VX 600 transalp?
I cannot find it anywhere...except
on CMSNL, it's a bit expensive but at least it could have the parts, but any other solution do you guys know?

Thanks
Radu

yes, i have stripper the whole bike for a full refurbish; i know all the dimensions,
The thing is that koyo bearing form japan has a greater amount of needles and sustain more load. now life expectancy for the cheaper ones? idnk

and seals as well..

from honda bike parts with 15% off - 219 pounds, with cheap bearings - 113 pounds - does it worth it?
i have never changed these bearings, if the seals are ok the bearing could be still usable, just the the load should withstand.
just the wheel bearings I have replaced them with cheap ones, and I have 2 years of riding with no problem, on and off, but the linkage ones are rusted, with clearances...

Take bearings & seals or specs to you local bearing stockist to match. For instance I use this company 5 minutes away and their prices are a 1/3 – 1/2 price compared to OEM Honda.

As others have said just go to your local bearing shop and get them at a fraction of Honda prices, they will have a selection of different manufactors bearings

I seem to remember spending around £60 for a full set of the bearings with seals at my local

Like the rest of the lads i go to a local bearing company cos i can buy good quality bearings at a fraction of the price that the robbing bastards at honda charge,i found the best way was to take the bearing to the bearing compang for them to have a look at so i get the correct bearings.

it's all good now.
Ordered the collars and the seals from honda oem and the bearings from skf - and others.
around 100 pounds in total.
I would say it's good with respect to the oem/aftermarket full price.

Sorry for replying to such an old post but it's a kind of emergency...

For Transalp 600 (except 88-89) the bearing of the link of rear suspension are all the same, size 17.5x24.5x22. Impossible to find except in Honda... did you really find them?
Can you tell me which brand, code, whatever?
I'm stuck in Borneo, the needles of my bearing are lost, at Honda Indonesia is not available, etc etc etc
Any info much appreciated, if not I'm going to replace them with bushings.....

Hi

useful links I have saved on my laptop:

I can't seem to find on my email from where i have ordered them parts...strange, sorry about that.

I searched a lot but eventually I found them searching for the sizes and type. Used part number as a verification if existed.
But use dimensions only, you'll find easier on google. Ask people overthere, I was in UK when I did this.... try to talk with local mechanicas or people that might know something, easiest is to search on google for sites/ stores that sell bearings and seals. with dimensions you can't go wrong... this would be my best advice..

and off course you can replace them temporarily with bushings, but you'll need good seals to keep the grease in, you could find a local lathe to make them bushings for you

Best of luck! keep us posted please with a pic if possible :) ride safe!
