With my new to me transalp I acquired a spare front and rear wheel. The rear looks like a TA one but is silver & 36 spoke with heavier guage spokes, correct rim size 2.50x17, brake drum internal diameter 130 mm and 17 mm spindle hole. What is it from Xr/XL600 of late 80s.
The front wheel is the correct size and colour, the disk is the correct size but has a different hole pattern and is cast iron (I think, has surface rust) so may be aftermarket disk. see below.

I would try and fit the rear to the TA but no centre stand & my jack is under something else & I am using the bike this weekend.

I have finally got round to trying the rear wheel in my 87 TA.
It fits and the brake plate fits did not try the sprocket assembly as it did not just lift out of my TA wheel so it could have been a pain to refit.
The rim appears to be at a slightly different offset (~5mm difference) which should be adjustable by slakening/tightening the spokes as appropiate.
