Transalp XL600 Engine Restriction Details for production years 1991 - 1999

There appear to be changes to the carburettor jetting on restricted models. I'll post up these details when I've worked out what they are.

This page hopes to detail which XL600V Transalp engines were restricted and also how they were restricted.

There were a number of changes from year to year, so I will present the information for each year of production and provide as much detail as available to me.

Also, the Honda Area (Market) Codes are my best guess. Again, if you know better then let me know.

Production year 1991 - XL600V-M, 1992 - XL600V-N and 1993 - XL600V-P.

Full Power models for markets AR (Austria), E (England), F/YB (France), FI (Finland), G (German), IT (Italy) and SP (Spain).

Restricted models for Germany (G/27P) and Switzerland (SW).

All models have the same CDI units, the changes were to the Inlet Rubbers and Cam-shafts.

Standard Inlet Rubbers, Part No: 16211-MM9-000

Standard Cam-shafts, Part Nos Front: 14110-MS8-000 and Rear: 14120-MS8-000

Restricted models.

Market - Germany (Honda Area Code "G/27P")

Restriction indicated by change in engine number from full power models.

Engine Nos: PD06E-3400001 to 3400952 for 1991,

Engine Nos: PD06E-3500001 to 3501067 for 1992 and

Engine Nos: PD06E-3600001 to 3600700 for 1993.

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16211-MS6-710

Market - Switzerland (Honda Area Code "SW")

Engine Nos: PD06E-2400022 to 2406989 for 1991,

Engine Nos: PD06E-2501544 to 2508309 for 1992 and

Engine Nos: PD06E-2603303 to 2608382 for 1993.

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16211-MS6-930

Cam-shafts, Part Nos Front: 14110-KW0-000 and Rear: 14120-KW0-000

Since there are not unique engine numbers for this market the only way to determine restriction is to check the part numbers. For the camshafts this means a top-end inspection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Production year 1994 - XL600V-R.

Full Power models for markets E (England), F (France), G (German), IT (Italy) and SP (Spain).

Restricted models for Austria (AR), Germany (G/27P), Italy (IT) and Switzerland (SW).

Standard Inlet Rubbers, Part No: 16211-MS8-000

Standard CDI Unit, Part No: 30410-MS8-610

Restricted models.

Market - Austria (Honda Area Code "AR")

Restriction is by change of Inlet Rubbers. Unique engine numbers for Austrian market.

Engine Nos: PD06E-5700003 to 5700716

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16210-MAB-690

Market - Germany (Honda Area Code "G/27P")

Restriction is by change of Inlet Rubbers.

Engine Nos: PD06E-2700001 to 2712050

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16210-MS6-830

Because there are no unique engine numbers the only way to determine restriction is to check the part numbers of the Inlet Rubbers.

Market - Switzerland (Honda Area Code "SW")

Restriction is by change of Inlet Rubbers and Cam-shafts.

Engine Nos: PD06E-2700004 to 2712247

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16211-MS6-930

Cam-shafts, Part Nos Front: 14110-KW0-000 and Rear: 14120-KW0-000

Because there are no unique engine numbers the only way to determine restriction is to check the part numbers. For the Cam-shafts this will mean a top-end inspection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CDI Unit, Part No: 30410-MS8-610

Market - Germany (Honda Area Code "G/27P")

Restriction indicated by change in engine number from full power models.

Engine Nos: PD06E-6000001 to 6001425

Inlet Rubbers (called "Insulator, Carburetor" by Honda): 16210-MAW-710

Market - Italy (Honda Area Code "IT/34P")
