What are the options for off-road biased tyres for my XL600?

90/90 - 21" front
130/80 - 17" rear (which seems to be the limiting factor)

Conti TKC80's
Pirelli MT21's

What else?

I'd go with the Mich comp 4 or comp MS front, with a T63 rear. Alps really seem to like that combination. Cheap too, from mytyres.co.uk. (£25 less than MT21s)
I've a set on order to replace the dire "Army Specials" (Mitas ??)that are on it. They're OK in mud, but on anything else it's a bit scary! Gravel limits at 60 before there's a massive wobble.

Depends how mad you are going to ride on the trails...

my ta650 uses army special front ..excellent upto 65mph then bars wobble like mad..but the tyre is only rated to that anyway..rear mitas c-02..

on the ccm644 I use maxxis intermediate c6001..excellent ..
