Hi everyone I'm new on here and have a question about my @ RD04

It seems to be very smooth up to 4500rpms then vibrates till 6000RPMs then smooths out again.

I have done a search and read all the posts and quite a few other bikes seem to be similar. But no one had found a cure?

Is this normal for the @ or could it be carb balancing or a dodgy plug split carb diaphragm or something.

It is definately the engine as it is still there on the stand.

I have taken off the crash bars, checked engine mounts.

It feels like a harmonic vibration to me but its weird that it is really smooth at high revs.

Any ideas would be great.

It sounds similar to the 'alp with a flat spot at about that rev range.
You could try a different filter and balancing the carbs.

I had a go at trying to find what is vibrating in the shed last night and a lot of the vibes were coming from the exhaust.
I have the stock muffler and have been thinking of putting an end can on so I thought I would remove it and go for a ride to see if it was smoother.

Well apart from sounding like an old Harley it felt alot better and I was surprised how much more response and power it had, so a new end can is must for my bike.
Lucky I live in the country so no one to hear lol.

Honda seem to love strangling the Engine of these bikes, a better air filter and a different exhaust seem to give a lot more response.
