As you may have guessed these events take quite a bit of organising. We have for next year Digital Captive, Boris, Alpslapper and myself to start the ball rolling as XRV site admins but we will need some help.

We have had a great team for 2010, who have done outstanding work which is very much appreciated. I cannot emphasise enough how much of a logistical nightmare 2010 has been, and the team have pulled together and gone above and beyond to make it a success.

In the true spirit of XRV we want to make sure that we give others the opportunity to be involved in organising 2011, so we are calling for volunteers to help us.

So if you want to be involved in organising The Longest Day Event 2011 please post your interest in this thread and if you have any special skills please let us know.

I would love to help but I do not have enough spare time.
I do however feel that the team for 2010 did ( are doing ) a great job and think they should remain.

Some of this years team have already said that they would like to just do the ride next year without getting involved with organising it, and some members who would have liked to have been involved haven't had the chance because we already have a large committee. So to be fair to all it's open to all

Always happy to give any advice on endurance rides but titles and commitees are not for me. If I see something I think I know something about (that's not very often!) I'll just spout it out and you can use it or disregard it folks.

Looking forward to the 2010 and catching up with people and meeting new ones. Ride Hard

I'll run the bank account as it is already up and running.

If anyone does anything before asking Barry how to arrange the IT there should be a slow and painful punishment.

With Russ on board there should be no quality or dispatch issues with merchandise.

The one area we really fell down this year was fundraising. I tried a bit, GOG put in a valiant effort, but this is specialist work.

I'd be willing to help but if it's a fund raising specialist you're after then that's probably not ging to be me. I could sell water to arabs let alone sand ...

May I offer myself for this? I'm probably not avaliable for the ride weekend, but anything I could do before that I'm more than willing to.
I do have a bit of experience in planning/schedules/routes etc, and can just about handle spreadsheets/mailshots etc.
Let me know?
YOU - Route planning

I've still not recovered from our bikes being up to the bars in thick mud and you turning to us with that grin on your face, saying, right lads, the next bit is a little bit tricky

I meant to lock this thread before you saw it :cussing:

Too late now ;)

Oh well, a route that Mudwizz is involved in - this is going to be fun :toothy1:

any way big thanks to all involved, stumpyfingers for finding an awsom road, pdsquire for a nice little blast including a face to face with pc plod and an interestin cornering display, docroz for a sweet ride to rosslair, and to the boys of the bunch oz,matt and a very brave gareth on his 125 all

I'm willing to assist where possible. I've mentioned on my feedback that there are certain duties that require attendance on the event and equally there are some that don't. As I cannot promise my attendance, I'm up for anything that doesn't require me being there. Of course, if I can't ride but it's not too far away, I can maybe attend the start to do the jobs the guys ridin shouldn't be doin.....like cooking breakfast and tidying up.....like they hadn't got enough to do already! Oh, and leaving their topbox keys on their panniers! Lol

I'm happy to help. I'm a determined wee sod when I put my mind to something, and if that doesn't work I'll just cuddle everyone until they do what I want. Let me know if that'll be of use.:angel7:

I am well known for not doing what I am told. So cuddle away, I can take it ;)

This may not be the most efficient way to get things done but it does seem to engage and I am ready for the challenge, arms outstretched....:angel8:

I already mentioned somewhere else (can't find it now...) that, being resident in france & only a couple of hours from Paris & being fluent (not to say effluent) in the lingo, I would be happy to help in any way I can on the froggy side if the "two towers" is the chosen route.
