If I may ask a question, "What would you like from your advanced training?"

I'm mainly focusing on the off-tarmac side of things, but any ideas would be great.
This can include prices, times, dates, locations, course coverage, their bike or yours, and how big would you like the training operation to be.

This is work related, so if I can't ask, please move/delete this thread!

Thanks in advance all. :D

OK, this would be for a purely recreational weekend away type situation.

location: peak district or north Wales.
overnight accommodation/camping/evening pub meal
Their bike: 300cc two stroke or 450cc four stroke enduro type.
Their insurance.
topics:
  • pre ride suspension set up/preload/sag etc
  • climbing rock steps
  • tackling sand at speed
  • crossing the fall line
  • descending in mud/rock gardens
  • riding along riverbeds
Cost ?? £300 in the region of as basic starting point.

no more than 6-8 riders to an instructor.

Proper objectives set: "by the end of this course you will be able to ......"

Hope this is useful.

Never having completed a course difficult to specify but i would say,
- riding on different surfaces
- riding on different inclines
- riding over varying obstacles
- off road bike set up
- bike pick up once on the floor

their bike
price circa the set up in wales

Reading through the replies above I can see that some people have very different ideas on the definition of the word advanced.
I think that if you were to specify a base line of things that you would expect a reasonably capable rider to fulfil, it might save the paying clients and instructors a lot a grief, in the former being held up, and the latter having to give the individuals too much time and attention.

Hello buddy as you use the term advanced I would include a puncture repair and putting a drowned bike back on the road and towing a dead bike as well as the riding skills of course.

Thanks for the replies folks.

Maybe the term "Advanced" is off-putting. I'm meaning not "for your test" and "off-tarmac".

Mel, great minds and all that :) . These days I also include chain repair! Not many clients go for that sort of thing though, guess it's just not sexy enough.

Pity people want hire bikes, all my stuff is own bike based.

Don't know if this will help you decide what you want but for offroad off tarmac training we have 2 national / British enduro champions down here who run an enduro school JAson Frazer and Tony Dinham. The courses are weekends and can be booked on there website. The website i haven't seen for ages or how much detail it gives. I know several people who have done th ecourses and say it was a brilliant experience
