I'm looking at my ducati project sitting in the shed, problem i have at moment :

CBR wheels are for 20mm spindle.
The ducati spindles are 17mm.

Could i fit a 20mm stainless tube into the wheels (with 1.5mm wall thickness) so the 17mm spindles would fit ????????

(the reason is its got 16" wheels, and i'm trying to change up to 17" wheels for tyre choice).

Dont want to try and fit 20mm spindles, as that would mean a LOT of other work. If this wont go, other option is a pair of monster wheels.

Any Thoughts ?

Cheers.

Measure the i/d and o/d of the bearings ....EG... 17mm i/d (so you can keep your std spindle)and 40mm o/d (so you can use the 17" wheels)and go and see your local bearings guy.:thumbright:

the sleeve cant be bigger than the inner ring on the bearing , or when you tighten the axle bolt , itll all go knack
as it will crush the bearings and then they will collapse ,,,,,

bad days !!!
