My rear rim is on its last legs, having been respoked once as well. I have managed to get hold of a decent spare on ebay, but rather than fit it as is I am wondering whether to get it refurbed? Its not mint.

I was about to change the rear bearings tonight and having removed the rear I spotted the corrosion that prompted me to buy the spare. Do I change the wheel now?!

I am thinking I'll swap the bearings (they're cheap) in the original and put it back for now. In the meantime I'll get the spare rebuilt. But whats the most durable finish? I quite fancy black rim/hub/spokes. Perhaps powder coating? With black stainless spokes?

Help! I haven't got a clue. I don't want to do it again! What would you do?

Cheers
