Hi bob..

I use africa queens ..aka Rickycross bars with centre support bar through cylinders..very strong and after numerous offs they protect the radiators very well just a cracked fairing after a bush visit at 30mph..must learn to fly..

They cost around 200euro delivered and the company are very good just email in English and they will confirm stock etc.

just check the bolts are correct first typical Italians eh!!

also good for carrying the tyres levers etc..

Grave

...and if you're getting some, give me a shout and maybe we could get our own group buy going :)
Right, who speaks Czech as I can't make out what the prices are?

How did you order your Lutin?

cheers, Bob.

Bob, if you email them in English you will get a reply - and not in czech! The chaps wife, Eva I think, does the English email correspondence.

Just checked and the current rate of exchange is 1 Czech Koruna (crown) equal to 3.5 pence. Or 1 pound sterling equal to 28.5 Czech Koruna. Roughly.

If I remember correctly the deal is that you agree the spec (material - mild (called "classic") steel or stainless, colour, lamp brackets etc) and then when they are complete Eva will contact you with their bank account details that the cost (including shipping) should be paid into. Short while later a nice big parcel arrives. :)

You will have to check with your bank about any costs for transferring money. This being Ireland, I got stuffed for something like €40 to transfer the money in Czech koruna. When I transfer Euro to my UK account it costs only cents. Bloody banks!!!!!

It's the same for the UK banks so there could be some benefit in putting our orders together. Last time I checked, it was about £25 just to make the payment.

I want a set like this:

I have recently bought my XL700 and I am gutted they don't do them for the 700, i was planning to get a 650 but a 700 came up cheap enough to tempt me, but i had decided on Grave bars prior to that.. my partner is Czech, so if I can help then let me know and i can ask, but i suspect Eva's english will be more than enough. I'll be emailing them, in Czech to be polite, asking if they have plans for bars for the 700 if anyone else is interested...

Alan,

I'd like exactly the same bars in the same colour so if I'll make contact if that's OK with you and get a price for two sets. If the price is good we could pool our cash and make one payment, hopefully saving some bank charges?

cheers, Bob.

Alan,

I was about to send an email but then I got a Czech translation and ''padací rám s hrazdou v klasické oceli a s přídavnými světly'' means crashbars complete with additional lights (as in the picture).

I am not really interested in the lights, what about you?

cheers, Bob.

OK,

I'll try and word the email to ask for them without lights but with the upper crossbar.

Hi Lutin,

how long did it take you to get a reply from Grave?

I emailed them 8 days ago and no reply yet?

cheers, Bob.

I cannot tell you exactly Bob, but I don't remember it being lightening quick. This was back in early 2008.

For what it's worth, the price then for a set of standard bars (mild steel, black finish, no spot light mounts but with the crossbar under the headlight) was 6,400 CZK including delivery, which was about €260 at the time. As for turn around, I first contacted them in January 2008 and delivery was latter half of April.

If you have any trouble I've a friend who's Czech and could send an email in native lingo.

Tony
