I have a strange problem. My battery has been running down(new battery)
I have removed the aftermarket alarm but that's not cured it.
With the negative lead disconnected if I put a 12v tester(not a multimeter) between the lead and battery post I get 5v with the ignition off. It's a graduated tester with LED's indicating voltage.
I have disconnected all connections in the loom inc the regulator and alternator. (it shows 14v+ when connected and engine running)
The only thing that will put the 5v light out is to remove the E fuse( 5th from the left)which according to the sticker inside the fuse box lid is the fan.
I have disconnected the fan but the light stays on with the fuse in place.
I haven't been able to find a wiring diagram for a v5 and the earlier diagrams appear to be different on the wire colours and the position/function of the E fuse.
Removing the fuse doesn't seem to affect anything else.
Any ideas anyone??
Am I doing something wrong?

Ok I've done a bit more investigation.
I was wrong about it being the fan fuse it is actually the fuse marked clock.
What function does this perform?
It doesn't seem to make any difference if I have the fuse out or not with the exception that it puts out my check light when removed so no battery drain.
If I insert the fuse with ignition off the clocks come to life for a moment then switch off??
Do I have faulty instruments?
