Was chuffed as a chuffed thing when the new clutch turned up the very next day and it was the right one!






Now, the springs, have a look at this:




The spring at the bottom has an extra coil, and that is the only one that is tight! The others are nowhere near as loose as the old clutch, having perhaps 1mm (radial) movement compared to 4 or 5mm on the old.

So with the old I could turn the body against the cog by 4 or 5 mm, the new one I cannot move at all, by hand.

So even on a new one the springs rattle about, or as I suspect, my original theory that centrifugal force stops them rattling.
