Hi all,

Hope everyone is well, I'm looking to get a spare set of rims for my RD03 so I could have a set with 80/20 tires and a set of full knobbly tires on. Could anyone help decode the stamping on the rim:

"J 21x1.85 3 88 DOT"

So the 21x1.85 is easy enough, what does the J and 3 88 DOT stand for? Because of the American DOT sidewall labeling, I can't find anything about it.

I'm hoping it's to do with the spoke holes or position, I'd like to try and find a set of rims in the same size and a standerdised spoke layout would make things a lot easier.

Thanks!

Hi

Most likely the J could stand for the Japanese style of lacing
DOT for Department Of Transportation I believe
Could the 88 be the load index?

That would be consistent with the three last digits on the new rims a bought two years ago 06/11
