Hello,
The ignition key is giving me some issues as I need to tickle it back and forth to get the ignition on, it is getting more and more tricky to find the spot where the ignition stays on and the other day it turned off while riding and this was not a nice experiance.
Anyone that knows if there is any cure for this issue?
A new ignotion lock is very expensive

I've got exactly that issue with my XL700. Have you found a solution apart from the very expensive replacement job?

No I have not.
I am considering installing a separate ignition lock and keep the Honda original to lock the stearing but I dont like that approach
I also found this: Ignition repair that i might try.
Aftermarket locks for a few euros I dont really like either,

Thanks. I'm really trying to avoid replacing the whole lot. Second hand replacements on ebay are around £300 and I dont have the skills to do the job. Hey ho!

Buy a new ignition off AliExpress. They do complete sets of ignition, fuel cap and seat lock. Really cheap.

Mine seems to be ok now for the moment. I squirted some wd40 in and turned it on and off about 20 times. But I expect it is only a temporary fix so I'll get one from aliexpress if necessary. Thanks for the tip.
