here's one for you people in the know!!!!

will crf/cr 250-450 wheels fit onto my xr400 without any mods apart from maybe the spacers?
i ask because my bike failed its MOT due to the front wheel being slightly (understatement of the year, badly, about 7mm+ a nice flat spot:blob7:) buckled.
my friend at work has got some wheels which he said i can have for a good price if they would fit,,,,,,,,,,,, so would they?????????

Hi Bit more than spacers, the CRF has 20mm & 25mm spindles and I think your XR has 17mm front and rear, so you would have find either bearings or a spacer to fit the bearing as well as spacing the wheels.

Also don't know the width of the crf hub, can be done, but not a straight fit.

Didn't know a slight flat spot was a MOT failure.

cheers for the reply

it wasn't, but the fact the the wheel was 7mm out of true, and the flat spot making the rim bulge and adding to the problem, the tester had to fail it.

your rim can be out by 2mm for a alloy rim, and 4mm for a steel rim:confused:

o well, back to the drawing board.
any body want to buy a slighty used rim lol:thumbup:

Hi.

I have done this to a pair of CR wheels for a spare set for my XR, it's not complicated, but you need some machining skills to sort it, I made a spacer 20mm OD & 17mm ID the whole length of the inside of the wheel seems to work OK.
