Flipping the rear suspension dog-bone upside down can raise the rear by about 50mm (2 inches, in English ). Details here.

 

Now that's a good idea. He is a big bugger that Adi as he can flat foot my GSA even with the suspension set to off road mode.

well thankyou very much, i may take you up on that. Ok so just to confirm, does turning the wishbone upside down work on the xl600vr or only the 650?

 

Not on 600.

 

I did it on a 1200 Bandit (don't ask....)
I just removed the 'dogbone' links, cut the required ammount with the grinder & welded back together - worked a treat. No reason it couldn't work on anything else.
(Although they may need lengthening instead, guess it depends how the linkage is set up.)

It must be a good weld as they are under a lot of stress
