I've just looked out my window and seen two horses coming up the road, nothing unusual in that as they frequently pass our house. The thing is the lady on one of the horses was chatting away on her moble phone, surely that's just as dangerous as driving a car while on the phone?

I wonder what the law says about that?

Would i count as drinking and driving here :D:D:D:D also how would you charge a horse assuming it likes a drop of cider or lager & lime

Guess this could confuse some people to beleive it requires tax and mot

AS you can tell down here a lot of folk ride motorbikes and have a soft spot for horses but..................................

Some things are just criminal, not the fact that he did this to his horse or the fact the horse let him make himself look stupid but the real crime here i think is admitting you own an RMZ.

He is a local lad aswell i gues you could say he's taking both out for a ride

That's quite an interesting though process... One is a large metal hammer which normally goes 30mph+ on roads and will do exactly what the driver commands.

The other is a significantly smaller piece of steak which normally goes 5mph on roads and has an element of self preservation if the rider is distracted.

Before Vader surfaces and says Horses taste nice on Zer Barbbie, The question is why can you talk on the phone and ride a horse, ride one with no insurance or MOT, and then ride then any where off road causing mar-hooosive diverts and ploughing up the foot paths and bridleways, Not forgetting sheiting every?????
This country wont let a harmless or in Bob's case Legless people ride their Motorised Bicycles off road, were they do have insurance if they hit any one, have legal MOT's, don't dig up the ground as soil erosion as Horses and the owners usually toilet trained. RANT RANT rant.:toothy9::toothy9::toothy9::toothy9:

I just thought that she would have little control over the beast if some chav came roaring up the road in his Saxo/Corsa and scared the horse , god knows what a big lump of meat like that could do to a pedestrian if it was 'out of control'.

I have nothing against horse-riders but I do think she shouldn't be on her mobile whilst riding it.

Thats part the reason the country code exhists, so that when townies are in the rural lands they can get a bit of education about big animals not just what they see in a pet shop of town farm

In my Paddock I have 195 Bavarian Hooses all ready to be let go, When I used to ride the single hoose power unit it was a pain to catch and kept trying to cover any thing that moved until I had his panniers removed.:toothy10::toothy10:

Bob,

As you well know, the class of people who own horses are the class that writes the rules to govern the rest of us. They are generally immune from legal restraints on their own activities.

personally I dont have a problem with riders using a mobile whilst riding a horse, there are far worse things to worry about. Drivers should be taking more care when passing a tonne of pedegree chum, operated by a brain the size of a pea.... besides when you drive past you can oogle the arse of the young lady riding it or if its a bloke you can wind the window down and tell him him he's obviously a weirdo....

I grew up with horses - we had 3 and my sister used to ride for the army in Germany, my brothers wife has horses and they still frighten the bloody life out of me......
